Triple-decker sandwiches stacked with seasoned chicken, crispy bacon, fresh vegetables, and creamy mayonnaise on golden toasted bread.

# What You Need:

→ Chicken

01 - 2 chicken breasts (about 10.5 oz), cooked and sliced
02 - ½ tsp salt
03 - ¼ tsp black pepper

→ Bacon

04 - 8 slices bacon

→ Vegetables

05 - 2 medium tomatoes, sliced
06 - 8 leaves romaine lettuce

→ Bread

07 - 12 slices sandwich bread (white or whole wheat), toasted

→ Condiments

08 - 4 tbsp mayonnaise
09 - 2 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)

→ Other

10 - 2 tbsp unsalted butter (for toasting, optional)

# How To Make It:

01 - Season the cooked chicken breast slices evenly with salt and black pepper on both sides.
02 - Place bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat. Cook until crispy, turning occasionally, about 6-8 minutes. Drain on paper towels to remove excess grease.
03 - Lightly butter one side of each bread slice if desired. Toast in a toaster or on a grill pan until golden brown and crispy.
04 - Lay out 3 slices of toasted bread per sandwich. Spread mayonnaise (and mustard if using) on one side of each slice.
05 - On the first bread slice (mayonnaise side up), layer romaine lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and half of the seasoned chicken slices.
06 - Place a second bread slice on top, mayonnaise side down. Add additional lettuce, tomato slices, and 2 crispy bacon slices.
07 - Top with the third bread slice, mayonnaise side down. Press gently to compact the layers.
08 - Insert toothpicks at opposite corners through all three layers to hold the sandwich together.
09 - Using a sharp knife, slice the sandwich diagonally into halves or quarters. Repeat assembly process for remaining 3 sandwiches. Serve immediately.

# Expert Suggestions:

01 -
  • The combination of warm toasted bread, cool crisp lettuce, and salty chicken creates that perfect sandwich trifecta we all crave
  • This is the kind of meal that feels like a treat but comes together in under 30 minutes with ingredients you probably have
02 -
  • The toothpick placement matters, put them diagonally from each other so when you slice the sandwich, you know exactly where they are
  • Let the chicken cool completely before assembling, otherwise it'll make the lettuce wilt and the bread get soggy
03 -
  • If you're making these for a crowd, cook the bacon and slice the chicken the night before, then just assemble when you're ready to serve
  • Place a damp paper towel over sliced tomatoes while you prep everything else to keep them fresh and prevent them from drying out
